With the PMA 2007 show coming up the first PMA rumors are showing up in the numerous Internet forums and blogs. One of the rumors is a possible new Sony Cybershot digital camera introduction; the Sony Cybershot DSC-W80. Although the information is not official yet, the image of the Sony W80 seems to be an official product shot. Since we are not working under NDA with Sony nor have we given any inside information, we feel free to share our findings, like the unofficial news of the Sony DSC W80 camera, with you. It seems that the new Sony Cyber-shot W80 incorporates a 7.2 effective Megapixel CCD image sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 35 – 105mm (equivalent with 35 mm camera).
First information learns that the new Sony Cybershot W80 has a very slim housing and compact dimensions. Normally we would expect a Cybershot camera to use Memory Stick media as their main storage medium so it would be logical to claim the Sony W80 is using Memory Duo or Memory Stick Pro Duo for storage. The new Cybershot camera looks very similar to that of the Sony Cybershot W55 camera that was introduced in January, but well we may see some innovative features hidden inside the Sony W80.

A Bartow County couple will go before a magistrate judge today to see if they will be arrested for allegedly stalking a Kennesaw police officer by installing cameras to track neighborhood speeders.
Lee and Teresa Sipple spent $1,200 mounting three video cameras and a radar speed unit outside their home, which is at the bottom of a hill. They have said they did so in hopes of convincing neighbors to slow down to create a safe environment for their son.
The Sipples allegedly caught Kennesaw police officer Richard Perrone speeding up to 17 mph over the speed limit. Perrone alerted Bartow authorities, who in turn visited the Sipples’ home to tell them Perrone intended to press charges against them for stalking.

It’s true that Fujifilm is dependent on third parties like the Nikon D200 case, but the technology and everything else about this camera gives you that Fujifilm feeling. The Fujifilm feeling can best be described as the way in which Fujifilm approaches imaging. On one hand, there’s the technology of the hardware, and the way in which the image is formed internally within the camera, on the other hand there’s the feeling that they have looked at the picture in more depth.
You can notice that technology and innovation from various divisions have come together to be included in the Fujifilm S5 Pro DSLR. Take the face detection or the way in which the character of the picture has been handled. Techniques and methods from the film, industry translated into a digital version. Techniques from a Fujifilm Frontier digital minilab integrated in a digital camera, etc.

Webcams typically all have the same short comings, horrible picture quality if you need to use zoom. The reason for this is that 99.9% of webcams on the market use digital zoom which only makes the pixels larger. Digital Cowboy has a webcam on the market that looks pretty different but the real zest of the cam is in the real 7x optical zoom lens you can affix to the cam for real close up work.
The DC-NCP130 is at heart a USB CMOS cam with 1280 x 1024 resolution at 15 fps. However, strap the 7x optical zoom and you have a serious tool for spying on the hottie across the street…ummm…I mean protecting your assets from nefarious thieves. No word on pricing or availability currently.

When you buy a new digital camera what is your check list? Portability? Sure. Price? Definitely. Image Quality? Duh! But what about HSDPA and text messaging…?
This compact seven megapixeler comes with all the usual features including 3x optical zoom, 1600 ISO and 30fps VGA recording but it also has a whopping 3in LCD to take advantage of its extra ‘unique’ dual functionality.
To be fair, both are fairly straightforward. The HSDPA enables a snapper to directly upload photography to a remote computer or website while text messaging is… err… text messaging. Being a multimedia all rounder the i70 also supports playback of MP3s and Mpeg4 video making it part digicam, part cellphone and part PMP.
