pentax releases new Optio L20 camera

Pentax, Russia has just released the new Optio L20 camera, that is the ‘man’s version’ of the Optio S7 camera. The new L20 comes with 7.0 megapixels, and a blur reduction mode, and it gives priority to faster shutter speeds and higher ISO settings.

This new camera also has face recogition technology, that allows you to focus better on human faces and make them brighter accordingly. We don’t have any information about the cost of this camera, and when this camera will be available outside Russia. As of now, it is available only in Russia.

QUite an unusual name for a PMP, the Commodore Gravel In Pocket supports MP4, MPEG, DivX, Xvid, WMV, MP3, WMA, WAV, JPG, BMP and GIF files. It has 1 or 2GB of internal flash memory, and an expandable SD slot for removable memory. It plays at a fairly respectable 24FPS (film quality) on its 2.8-inch TFT screen.

And then there’s the Gravel in Home system, which has a 80GB hard disk, Video On Demand and Replay TV support. We hope to get more information from IFA between September 1 to September 6 in Berlin.

sony announces lower-priced pearl 1080p projector

Sony has just announced its Pearl VPL-VW50 1080p projector, with two HDMI inputs and the ability to crank out frame rates of 60p, 50p and even 24p. But the only thing missing is Sony’s up-rezzing technology, called the Digital Reality Creation, or DRC, so the Pearl’s standard definition sources may not look as pristine as its more-expensive older versions.

It is expected to hit the stores on October 20.

samsung z610 slider cellphone soon to be released

Samsung is keen on designing its cellphones stylishly, and the new Samsung Z610 in a creamy white form is no exception. It is expected to hit the stores by the end of this year.

The 3G-supporting slider handset comes with the fairly good specs – a 2-megapixel camera, a microSD expansion slot, and the capability of playing MP3/WMA/AAC audio files.

proton introduces new LCD Models

Proton recently announced the launch of 2 new purity LCDs into the American market – a 47-inch LCD and a 42-inch LCD model. Proton is known for making some of the thinnest, best looking LCD Televisions and these two LCD models are no different. These LCDs will be on display at TvTvst in September. They mark Proton’s return to the North American market.

The two models come loaded with component inputs (two sets for the 47-inch model), 16:9 aspect ratio, NTSC and ATSC tuners, picture-in-picture, up to 176 degree viewing angle and HD resolution up to 1080p. The 47-inch model will cost $4,000 and the 42-inch model will cost $2,500.

samsung’s ultra edition 8.4 – the world’s thinnest 3g cellphone

Samsung recently showed off more additions to its line of Ultra Edition 3G cellphones, specifically the Ultra Edition 8.4. In order to prove that 3G cellphones aren’t destined to remain bulky and unattractive, Samsung’s Ultra Edition 8.4 or Z370 is supposedly, the world’s thinnest 3G cellphone. It’s got a 1.93-inch TFT display and the phone has a body whose depth is only 0.3-inches. A 2-megapixel camera plus a VGA camera are also some of its finer points.

Also introduced were the Ultra Edition 13.8, or the Z720. Supporting WAP 2.0 and boasting a 2.1-inch QVGA display, the 13.8 was introduced as the world’s thinnest HDSPA slide-up. It also sports a document viewer and a second camera for video calls.

These phones are expected to release sometime soon .

epson releases p-3000 and p-5000 photo viewers/media players

Epson’s about to add 2 new models to its line of portable photo viewers / media players . Close on the heels of its earlier models P-2000 and P-4000, Epson has introduced the numerically-enhanced P-3000 and P-5000 versions.

Both these models retain the same 40GB and 80GB hard drives and SD and CompactFlash slots as their predecessors. The biggest enhancement is however, an increase in the operating speed, a mighty 250% faster, according to Epson. These new versions offer video support (including DivX), MP3 and AAC audio support. These 2 models are expected to hit the market before the end of the year for a pricetag of $499 and $699, respectively.

Asus has released a new A8Js core 2 Duo laptop. It has a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo T7200 processor, a 14.1-inch, 1,440 by 900 pixel widescreen LCD, a dual-layer DVD+-R/RW drive, 2GB of RAM, 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, a built-in webcam, 100GB hard drive, and a 512MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7700 video card. The battery life is quite short , around 2 hours and 36 minutes, but this weakness can be overlooked because of its muscular graphics card and powerful processor, saying that, “You’re not likely to find a lower-priced notebook with this much 3D-graphics power.”
